Welcome to this Elegantly Wacky Wedding at The Parker in Palm Springs.
It’s a classic story with a not-so-classic ending: EmilyJane and Ramzi plus their crew of 70 “flocked over” to sunny Palm Springs from the East Coast to soak up the mid-century vibes for this Elegantly Wacky Wedding at The Parker Palm Springs. But here’s the catch—EmilyJane and Ramzi specifically requested an “elegantly wacky” wedding day from the queen of color, Holly Gray of Anything But Gray Events.
We’ve seen classic in Palm Springs and boho in Palm Springs, but wacky in Palm Springs? Bring. It. On!
Featured in Green Wedding Shoes.
Nothing says elegantly wacky wedding like a huge flock of lawn flamingos, personalized details, and a colorful mid-century modern twist all came together at the Parker Palm Springs for a totally customized + nontraditional day at The Parker Palm Springs. Jenn Emerling was there to capture the fun in a way only she can—let’s flamingle, shall we?!
Ceremony
The ceremony on the lawn of The Parker Palm Springs was kept simple, yet colorfully impactful with ribbon garlands behind the couple as well as lining the aisle.
There were more than 150 lawn flamingos throughout the cocktail hour, signage, table decor, photo booth, displays, and cake to add to this elegantly wacky wedding design.
Wedding Tip!
Consider these alternative ceremony photos that are rarely seen in traditional wedding photo galleries but give a different and unique perspective to the wedding day point of view.
- Ceremony (guest perspective).
- The marriers taking a moment to look out at their family, friends, and chosen family.

- The kiss sans the officiant for a streamlined shot of the couple, perfect for framing!

An incredibly happy invitation suite and day-of detailing by Cecile’s Paper Co. set the stage!
Guests were greeted by a lemonade stand followed by signing the guest book, which looked like a mini Parker Palm Springs!
Let’s flamingle to our seatings with this elegantly wacky seating chart.
These guests understood the elegantly wacky wedding fashion assignment and did not disappoint!
You thought we were kidding about the 150 flamingos, didn’t you?

Notice anything different about their wedding looks?
“It was really important for us to have a non-tradition and colorful outfits. We went with a green theme for both the custom RMINE gown and veil as well as the custom Diplomat Outfitters tuxedo. It was definitely worth the expense to get one-of-a-kind pieces made.” – Bride & Groom
EmilyJane’s celery green wedding gown and matching veil were the perfect compliment to her firey red hair while Ramzi’s dark, hunter-green suit was the perfect compliment to his swarthy complexion.
The groom and groomsmen also rocked pops of palm print designs in their ties and pocket squares from Knotty Tie to complete this Palm Springs chic look.
When the bride opts for green, you can bet her bridesmaids will follow in a colorful suit! And those bright blooms by Shindig Chic fit into this Elegantly Wacky Wedding, effortlessly.
Reception Design
Pink chairs?! Yes, please! This design was a joy from beginning to end with colorful pops, playful touches, bold patterns, and a unique mix n’ match design that broke the wedding mold.
When clients ask me if lighting is essential in the wedding budget, my answer is always YES! Lighting can make a huge difference both in event design and logistical function.
Sputnik chandelier drops and twinkle lights transitioned from day to dusk, then night, and draped the desert evening sky in luminous sparkle.
Photo Booth
You can’t help but love this Palm Springs meets flamingle photo booth, custom-made for this couple by Paper Moon Shoppe.
Open-air photo booths are always winners because they not only can accommodate both small and large groupings of people, but, if they are stylized like this one was, they also add to the general decor and atmosphere. This is what we like to call, “double-duty design elements”.
A Sweet Finish
The Parker Palm Springs has an incredible culinary and party team that created this flamingo wedding cake.
