Colorful Kitschy Kristmas Tablescape at La Piñata Rentals
Ditch the red and green this year and infuse your Christmas table with some non-traditional color and 1960’s inspired flair with this Colorful Kitschy Kristmas Tablescape.
The initial inspiration for this Colorful Kitschy Kristmas Tablescape were these amazing vintage-inspired wreaths that my friend, Jen, creates. Although she hand makes them in all different colors, the pastels spoke to me. I knew I had to design a shoot around them!
Everything from the table, chairs, linens, flatware, chargers, glassware to the china came from La Piñata Rentals.
Shades of pink, blue, teal, silver, gold and rose gold gave this Colorful Kitschy Kristmas Tablescape a whimsical holiday vibe without feeling so right on the nose.
Vintage designs on the place cards and menus came from original Pan Am artwork recreated by GoGoSnap Vintage Stationary. By tying place cards to glass ornaments you not only get an easy and inexpensive place setting design but they double as a personalized Christmas ornament that your guests can use on their own tree at home!
I LOVE mixing metallics, especially during the holiday season. Rose gold and mixture of matte gold and shiny gold gave the table just the right amount of sparkle and shine.
Don’t be afraid to mix patterns and textures together. By doing so you add dimension and interest to your table design! Friends don’t let friends eat dinner at boring tables!
So many balls! Yep, I am like a four-year-old. I could not stop saying, “BALLS” all day long. But seriously, these Kitschy Kristmas vintage-inspired wreaths made the table glow with holiday joy!
Can you spot photographer Julie Shuford’s reflection in some of them?
Glittery gold bottle brush mini trees made their way into the design mix along with some of the extra ornaments! Keep it easy, fun and festive. Decorating is all about being creative and using elements you have in front of you.
Swap out your unscented votives candles for festive holiday scented ones. It adds a silent but impactful feeling for your guests as they take their seats for dinner. Try cinnamon or spruce scented candles to give your table that extra holiday touch.
When it comes to holiday entertaining, I say, go buffet! Having a separate table to showcase your meal not only let’s guests help themselves to whatever they want but also leaves so much room on the holiday dining table for extra decor! Plus, this ensures your fancy runner/linen won’t be stained by pesky spills.
David, the owner of La Piñata Rentals, is the ultimate team player. Not only does he rent out of the most beautiful event items but he offered to jump right up on the ladder to help me hang the larger wreath on the wall of his showroom. Great customer service all around. Thanks, David!
