Here are four, fabulous women of different shapes, sizes and ages, giving their advice + insight on finding the perfect dress:
Monique has played a huge roll in her niece’s life and is representing her family as Aunt of the Bride at their DTLA museum wedding. She required a modern and sculpted look that was both elegant and fit her tall, curvy shape.
Monique’s take on the dress: The yellow color popped off my skin tone and I felt like a star!
Proof that a mother (or in this cause a super cool aunt) can still be on-trend with fashion; as well as stand out in the crowd without taking attention away from the real stars of the day!
A casual destination beach wedding in Mexico requires a mother of the bride dress that is fun, flirty + breathable in the hot, summer sun. Claudia’s off-shoulder, hot pink, lace dress was perfect for a ceremony on the beach. No shoes required!
Claudia’s take on the dress: Color was key for me. The wedding dress code specifically called for bright colors, and this off-the-shoulder number didn’t overwhelm my petite frame.
Faith is a professional ballroom dancer and is used to wearing dresses that are long and form-fitting, showing off her dancer’s body. This emerald green, satin dress had both the elegant Old Hollywood vibe and movement she craved.
Faith’s take on the dress: My inner film star personality emerged and I was ready for lights, camera, and action!
Faith also happens to be the mother of Aurelia D’Amore Photography
This was one of my favorite styled shoots to plan and design to date because it featured my very own mother, Trilby!
Trilby’s take on the dress: As a mature woman, I do not like to show my arms at all. I didn’t want to have to find a dress that would require me to wear a sweater or shrug…that would make me feel matronly. So, a dress with long, lace sleeves was a wonderful compromise that made me feel covered and confident!
For Trilby’s son’s church wedding, she required a more traditional and conservative look that was demure and modest, but still easy, light to move in and fashionable!
As you can imagine this Mothers Day styled shoot was a huge team effort. I want to thank all the amazing vendors who worked tirelessly behind the camera to make this all possible.
