St. Ives Calming Chamomile Daily Cleanser
Instead of coffee, start your morning off with chamomile! Gentle and easy on sensitive skin, this chamomile cleaner starts your day off right! I am also a big fan of St. Ives products because they are animal cruelty-free! Under $10.
Thayers Rose Petal Facial Mist Toner
This Alcohol-Free, Witch Hazel Facial Mist is the perfect segway after washing your face in the morning. I use this product throughout the day as well when I need a skin pick me up. For an even bigger wow factor, store it in the refrigerator for a cool and refreshing zing. Thayers has been around since 1847 so you know it works! Under $11.
LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C Serum
Just like a glass of orange juice, this LilyAna Naturals Vitamin C serum is a burst of refreshment for your skin. It’s weightless formula and cooling sensation is a wake up call in the morning as the start to your moisturizing routine. Luckily for under $20 a bottle, a little goes a long way.
Ohui Miracle Moisture Skin Softener
Here is the first of two splurges on the list. You might not be as familiar with ‘softener’ or ‘essence’ as you might be with traditional moisturizers. Softener, a more liquid-type moisturizer, contains ceramide. Ceramides are lipids that help form the skin’s barrier and help skin retain moisture. This is key! It can also help the skin protect against environmental aggressors like irritants and pollution. Without the proper ratio of ceramides, the skin’s barrier can become compromised, leading to dryness, itching, and irritation. Softener sometimes called Essence helps retain the moisture your skin needs to be plump and glowy. Under $34.
Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging UV Moisturizer
This Fast-Absorbing Formula moisturizer is light enough to wear under makeup in the mornings! It also has an SPF 15 in it. Although I still recommend additional SPF protection, at least SPF 30, it’s certainly a start. Don’t forget to only use two fingers as you apply to avoid wasting product on your hands. Under $20
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel
Although you can use this all over your face, neck, and chest, for an extra boost of moisture after a long night, I especially love this product for under my eyes in the morning. Its’ gel formula absorbs quickly and leaves no sticky residue. See how I use it below in tandem with eye masks. Under $13.
Crystal Collagen Under Eye Mask
Do these really work?! The answer is a resounding, yes! I have suffered from undereye circles for years despite any amount of sleep I get every night. I use Crystal Collagen Under Eye Masks in tandem with my Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel. A bit of the gel on the back on the eye mask help add additional moisture to my under eye area as well as helping the eye masks stay on longer for a better, well-rested appearance. Under $10 for 30 pairs.
Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water
I have tried half a dozen different brands of micellar water, but Granier is by far my favorite because it doesn’t leave a strange residual feeling on your skin after you use it and it completely takes off makeup from the day without harsh rubbing. As someone who can NEVER go to sleep with any makeup on, this is a must-have product for me.
Here is the final splurge on the list. I starting using iS Clinical Cleansing Complex when my facialist, Despina Scandalis, recommended it and I have never looked back. While it’s the most expensive product on my list at $44, I conserve it by only using it as part of my evening routine. White Willow Bark exfoliates and dissolves pore-clogging oil to boost cellular turnover while tightening the appearance of pores. Antioxidants derived from Chamomile and Centella Asiatica help heal and soothe the skin. This lightweight gel formulation is elegant and refreshing; a skincare lover’s dream! Plus, a little goes a very long way with this product. It also may be used as a mask for 2-3 minutes before rinsing!
Thayers Witch Hazel Facial Toner
Yep, as you can see, when I love a brand, I use many of its products. Here again, Thayers Alcohol-Free Cucumber Witch Hazel Facial Toner is my next step to a clean, toned, and refreshed face after cleaning. Because this toner has an Aloe Vera Formula it’s cooling on sensitive skin like mine.
Dermal Korea Collagen Essence Full Face Facial Mask Sheet
I fell in love with these sheet masks when I lived in Korea back in 2004. I hoarded the supply I had of them back and parcelled them out to myself back then because you couldn’t find them in the states. I am happy to report that you can now get them on Amazon, in bulk no less, and it’s awesome! Stock up on these sheet masks with a 16 pack for under $20.
L’Oreal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives Night Serum
It’s 0.3% Pure Retinol content is the key to this product! Using it just for a few weeks now and I have seen visible changes. It has been helpful in reducing the depth of a wrinkle that lives on my forehead between my eyes that I loving refer to as my, “divorce wrinkle”. Even if you have never been divorced, I am sure you have a wrinkle that could use some love. Under $30.
Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream Face Moisturizer
While Olay has several varieties of Regenerist face creams, this one is my favorite for night time use because it’s thick but not greasy. I have found it increases brightness while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. All for under $23.
Your eyes are the window to the soul and when they look tired, so do you! Eye cream under your eyes, along the brow bone, lid, and the corners of the eye where smile lines can form will help retain lost moisture and fight against signs of skin aging. Under $17.
Garnier SkinActive Facial Mist Spray with Rose Water
Finish off your nighttime routine before bed with refreshing and soothing Rose Water Facial Mist to seal in all the moisture of your nighttime skincare routine as you sleep. Under $8.
If you have never heard the word ‘decolletage’, don’t freak out, it just a fancy French word for chest. That being said, your hands, lips, neck, and especially your chest can give away your age and skincare expertise, so don’t forget to give them lots of love and attention too!
JR Watkins Natural Hydrating Body Oil Mist
This Coconut Milk & Honey Moisturizing Body Oil contains vitamin E and is an ideal skincare product after an evening shower. Just a few sprays of this super-light, a pleasantly fragranced body oil mist, and your skin will feel quenched and ready for your lotions and potions. The company has been around since 1886! Under $9.
NIVEA Breathable Nourishing Body Lotion
I am a long time fan of all Nivea products, but this new lotion might be, by far, my favorite! With it’s non-sticky, airy feel, this is the perfect all-over body lotion for normal skin right out of the shower. The very faint ‘Tropical Breeze’ smell is just enough but in not overly perfumed. Under $9.
My #1 skincare recommendation! Now, this might not be a product you are familiar with, but it’s utterly incredible. I say udders because it was originally created and used to moisturize cow udders after milking! It’s my best-kept secret for your decolletage right before bed. Its thick, ‘vaseline-like’ formula locks in moisture, and although it’s on the stickier side, it keeps the tender skin of your neck and chest supple and youthful. Look for it in the lotion section in a bright green metal tin. Under $8.
Gold Bond Ultimate Overnight Deep Moisturizing Lotion
This extra-thick, buttery, ultra-rich lotion is packed with essential antioxidants & melatonin which will help you get a better night’s sleep. I slather, a good amount on my neck and chest right before bed and after using Bag Balm. Works through the night so you wake up to softer, healthier-looking skin. Under $8.
Finally, after you have completed these steps, don’t forget your lips! We all know and love chapstick, but have you tried the Candy Cane variety? Originally only sold during Christmas time, you can now get all year round! It’s minty flavor/scent is more intense and tingly than the Chapstick Peppermint variety. It’s a Christmas miracle! Under $2.
