The Lodge at Malibou Lake in Agoura Hills was the backdrop for Allison and Brian’s rustic chic outdoor wedding that celebrated family traditions, nature and some good ol’ Texas flare. Nestled in the mountains, The Lodge at Malibou Lake is surrounded by natural beauty, greenery and actual lake!

Details:

I mean, could these two get any cuter? I don’t think so! The overall look and design was all Allison but there were a few special Texan touches especially for Brian. As a Texas native, Brian wanted to incorporate some of this favorite flavors. Dr. Pepper, originally bottled in his home down and Southern Red Velvet cake were must haves!

The look of the wedding was classic and chic. Tones of soft grays, white, blush and taupe were complimented by the natural look and feel of this 1936 vintage venue. The Lodge at Malibou Lake was originally built as a private lodge for the surrounding lake side community and remains a staple to locals to this day.

As Mr. Big says, “Oh, this is where they keep the light!”. Yep, gorgeous, nature light lives at The Lodge. The wall of windows inside the reception room creates the most beautiful glow for detail shots, like Allison’s beautiful BHLDN wedding gown.

Allison, a natural beauty, kept her makeup light and matte as it was a warm summer day. Makeup artist, Betsy DiFrancesca, specializing in creating the most beautiful version of you.

One of my favorite parts about Allison + Brian’s wedding was the multiple wedding cakes from Susie Cakes. There were 5 cakes in different flavors!

Tradition:

Their “cutting cake” was a traditional, tiered white cake with vanilla buttercream. They opted for a naked cake style with minimal frosting. The delicious cake was topped with Allison’s parents cake topper from there own wedding and her grandparents wedding.

As I took the vintage topper out of it’s original box to put it on the cake, I was so touched by how lovingly it was wrapped to keep it safe. Two romantic glass birds hang from the floral arch. This heartfelt touch gave a special nod to family love and tradition.

Guests were greeted at their place setting with a small white box filled with a homemade treat baked with love by the bride’s mother. A recipe from Allison’s great grandmother, this cake was to be placed under your pillow to dream of your true love. The recipe and it’s original maker’s photo adorned the cake table as a nod to family tradition and “sweet” dreams!

Los Angeles meets Texas:

And the buffet of cakes continues! The groom’s cake with a royal blue Texas Rangers design, was red velvet all the way!

A secret moment near the lake of the newly married bride and groom captured right after the ceremony. The Lodge at Malibou Lake is beautiful from all angles but it is the hidden areas of greenery and lake front views that really make this Agoura Hills venue such a magical place to wed. You are transported out of the the city the moment you step on property.

Looking back on Allison + Brian’s wedding at The Lodge at Malibou Lake almost 1 year later, all I can do it smile. Their wedding was so incredibly sweet and romantic. I wish them all the love and luck in the world for a marriage that lasts a lifetime.
