We wanted to start off 2019 with a highly designed, Valentine’s Day-inspired styled shoot based on the classic TV show, I Love Lucy. Recreating our versions of Lucy and Desi’s NYC apartment living room, car, and fire escape was epic!

In 2019, Anything But Gray Events dove headfirst into our ideal clients. Colorful, bold, creative, and non-traditional Wackadoos are our jam! EJ & Ramzi, East-Coast dwellers, wanted a Palm Springs destination wedding featuring their favorite bird, the flamingo! It was truly a showstopper wedding with an amazing couple who trusted us to bring their vision to life!

Planned in just 17 days as an intimate, daytime, destination wedding for this Aussie-based couple, this DTLA Bar wedding was one of our most badass of the year! We played with all the elements that were included at the venue including using the picnic tables for dining and encrusting the centralized patio tree in brights florals. Plus, a surprise visit from the ice cream man!

The WIPA SoCal Design Challenge gave us the chance to design around my favorite city in the world, Los Angeles, creating an urban vibe featuring brick, basketball, and graffiti. Our design took home the win of the night!

Our second styled shoot of 2019 was all about Mothers! This Mother’s Day Styled Shoot featured beautiful mothers of all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages.
In 2019, I spoke on many educational panels including, The Bruncheon for the second year in a row. The Bruncheon offers engaged couples the opportunity to sit down and break bread with industry professionals who can address their one on one wedding questions and concerns.
2019 Bruncheon was held at The Ruby Street in Highland Park. Photos by Laura Ford Photography.
In 2019, we were happy to see so many of our couples taking engagement photos. You can read all about the importance of taking engagement photos in our previous blog post.
2019 was a festive and colorful mix of social, weddings, and corporate events including the ‘Women of Courage’ Event for Youth Mentoring Connection (YMC) at COMUNITYMade in DTLA.

Before the events, comes networking. As the Tuesdays Together LA San Fernando Valley leader, I helped plan not 1, not 2, but 12 meet up events in 2019. I am so proud of my group of entrepreneurs, creatives, and small business owners and thankful for the community we have grown over the last 4 years together.
In Spring 2019, I teamed up with Aisle Planner this year to speak at The Confetti Conference in San Diego. We presented to a group of events industry professionals on the capabilities of the platform as well as had a little fun with some out of the box team-building exercises.
I was honored this year as one of Rising Tide‘s 20 on the Rise 2019. 20 On The Rise is a celebration of individuals who are making waves and raising the tide, rocking their respective industries through hard work and creativity hosted by HoneyBook.
This isn’t a popularity contest nor is it a ‘most liked’ list. 20 On The Rise is a curated list of 20 rising stars in 6 categories nominated by you and selected based on empowerment, impact, purpose, and passion.
The Fall of 2019 took us to the desert of Joshua Tree for Anna and Florence’s wedding at Rimrock Ranch. Their Southwestern-inspired outdoor wedding featured stargazing, hand-drawn artwork, a taco bar, and tons of sweet moves on the dance floor!

Fall 2019 also took us up, up, and away in true Pan Am elegance. Adam and Joe’s blend of love for midcentury modern design and Pan Am Airlines created a one of a kind experience for their guests at The Skirball.
With intricate aviation set-pieces, original airline props, and flight attendants ready to prepare for landing, minding your tray tables are up of course! Now, forever co-pilots, these two have a special place in my heart!

December 2019 brought us up to 51st floor to City Club Los Angeles for the American Red Cross Donor Event. We love bringing a bit of whimsy to corporate events.
