The Garland Hotel – A Colorful and Retro Gem in Studio City
Just a hop, skip, and a jump from Hollywood up the 101 North freeway is The Garland. Tucked away in Studio City, this colorfully retro gem is central to the hip and trendy restaurants, sights, and Universal Studios! Join Anything But Gray Events as we tour this iconic hotel and event space.
As a wedding planner, I am always looking for unique and creative venues to share with clients, so I stopped by with Aurelia D’Amore Photography to check out all that The Garland has to offer guests.
In 1970, legendary Hollywood actress Beverly Garland and her husband Fillmore Crank, discovered this bucolic seven-acre property. They knew they wanted to create a hideaway for friends, family, and guests.
In 2000, the Beverly Garland hotel was handed down to their son James, whose unpretentious yet sophisticated style influenced the expansion of the hotel into a true resort, The Garland.
If you are like me and you love a colorful, retro vibe then The Garland is the place for you.
It has the mid-century modern elements you crave without the trek out to Palm Springs. The lobby, lounges, and restaurant have all the Instagram-worthly snaps you are jonesin’ for without hitting the open road.
The Garland’s curated decor, stylings, and an eye for design is a breath of fresh air in the heart of the valley! It is not a cookie cutter hotel or event space by any means. Can you tell orange is their signature color?
If you are interested in booking an event at The Garland, these are the three ladies you are going to want to know! For more information or to connect with the team, contact Director of Catering, Michelle Hunter, at Michelle@thegarland.com
Beverly Park, the second largest event space at The Garland, is a beautiful garden spot for weddings or events for up to 200 guests.
Beverly Park can accommodate a wedding ceremony and cocktail hour with a seated dinner on the adjoining tennis court.
The use of The Garland’s in-house tables, chairs, and white linens are included in your rental fee.
If you are looking for an indoor option or require a larger guest count, the newly remodeled Garland Ballroom is ideal. It can hold up to 300 guests for a seated dinner.
Other Event Spaces:
Whether it’s a wedding, social event like a bridal or baby shower, or a corporate event, The Garland has a space to fit your needs!
There are plenty of things to do at The Garland. Lounge by the pool with a Summer cocktail, enjoy a movie night in their theater, play corn hole on the lawn or snuggle up on the patio couches to read a book. Whatever you choose to do, The Garland has something for everyone’s relaxation goals.
My favorite stops at The Garland are the lounge bar for a glass of wine and the outdoor fire pit.
The Garland Patio, just adjacent to The Ballroom and Lobby, can serve as an outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour location as well.
With it’s close proximity to the hotel, it’s just an easy walk for wedding guests who are spending the weekend enjoying all that The Garland has to offer before the big day!
The Garland has a full calendar of events to take part in throughout the year. With wine tastings, block parties, family dinner and movie nights on the agenda, there is something fun for every age group!
The complimentary hotel trolly is available to take hotel guests to local sites and attractions in the Studio City area.
Today, The Garland has been re-imagined to include a hip new restaurant, The Front Yard.
My go-to happy hour cocktail at The Front Yard is the sweet yet tart Strawberry Margarita with a sugar rim. When it comes to getting comfy and cozy, their decedent Braised Short Rib hit the stop at dinner time!
